The difficulty is a bit ramped up here, but you can jump between difficulties, though annoying progression is on a per difficulty basis (it would be nice if clearing Normal cleared Easy in case you needed to swap mid-way). Visually it's aged much better than the first two, it has the most replay value with multiple playable characters and combat styles, actually has a tutorial, actually has a mission selection, and has what people actually think of when they hear "Devil May Cry".
Given that DMC 2 was made by a completely different team than the original, it could have been worse.ĭMC 3SE : This is probably the game you got the collection for. Much like the original, there is no tutorial here but the game is much easier overall. There are some pretty bad missions, the melee combat is entirely different, and guns as OP but it's not devoid of any enjoyment, it's just probably not the game you'd buy this collection for.

DMC HD collection is a bit of a mixed bag.ĭMC: There is a solid game here, but starting it without the manual, no in-game tutorial, and high difficulty is a rough way to start.
